The amount of images you receive is relative to the hours of coverage. For a 4-5 hour event expect between 300-400 images. For a 6-8 hour wedding expect around 500-600 images. For a full day, 10-12 hours, expect around 800-900 images.
After the wedding, how long will it take to receive our photos?
You will receive a sneak peek of approximately 10 images within the week following your wedding. Your reveal session, where we look at all of your images together, will happen 3-4 weeks after your wedding. Followed by a private online gallery to share your images with friends and family.
Do you travel for weddings and engagement sessions?
I (Angela Strassheim, Owner & Lead Photographer) love traveling alongside my couples! We are based in Connecticut. However, we consider NYC, Hudson Valley, Western Massachusetts and NYC local. We love road trips and are delighted to chat about locations that are 3-5 hours away. I am available for destination weddings and elopements anywhere in the world you dream of traveling to. There are additional fees for destination travel.
Do you shoot film?
I have been a film shooter all my life, so I love offering film photography to my couples as an “add-on” feature. We offer 35mm, as well as large format.
What collections do you offer?
We offer a few different packages based on the size of your wedding and hours of coverage. They range from $2,800 to $6,500. Each package can be tailored to your specific needs. We also offer many add-on sessions such as an Engagement Session, Morning After Session, and a Rehearsal Dinner Session. I understand that wedding planning can be extremely stressful. I’m more than willing to work with your budget and create a personalized package. I have created payment plans for many of my couples as well. I’m devoted to creating images that fit your vision and making your wedding day accessible.
Will a second photographer be working with you?
I always have one assistant with me during all my weddings. They usually help with additional photography throughout the day. For larger weddings and full day coverage, two photographers and lighting assistants will be there to ensure we don’t miss a beat. We always like to provide different perspectives of the key moments that take place on your wedding day.
Are you fully insured?
We are fully licensed and insured for services and liability. We can provide certificates of insurance to your venues if needed.
Can you photograph our rehearsal dinner?
I can create customized packages to include additional events. We offer add-on’s to all my weddings such as the rehearsal dinner, a couple’s morning after session, engagement session, a boudoir session, tennis matches and pool parties, etc. Dream away and we will be there.
Do you backup our images?
All of your images are downloaded and backed up on a separate hard drive within hours following your wedding. Once your images are selected, edited and cropped for sharing, they are uploaded to a private, online viewing gallery where they will live for a year after your wedding. Once you receive your gallery link, I advise that you download your images onto your own personal hard drive. I do not suggest leaving them on the desktop of your computer.
Do you sell Prints? Wedding Albums? Frames?
I’m an enormous lover of art photography books and think everyone should live with art in their homes. We offer several different albums and a big coffee table book. Our albums are carefully designed with your chosen images. The final design is then presented during an album reveal session, where certain edits can be made to the couple’s request. We like to ensure that our couples are happy with their design before ordering the final product.
We also offer wall art in varying sizes, styles, and finishes. The turn around time is approximately 8-10 weeks for both albums and wall art. Most of our clients choose one or more images to live with on their walls that invoke the joy felt on their wedding day.
Desktop size prints can be purchased directly through your private, online viewing gallery.
Do you retouch every image you take?
All of your images get our personal attention and editing. They are color corrected, some are converted to black & white, contrast and tone is perfected and images are straightened and cropped when necessary. All the images that are used for albums or wall art are especially retouched to remove any distracting background objects or softening of the skin. If excessive retouching is needed, such as body contouring or head swapping, there is an extra fee of $75 per image. This is a rare need for most of my couples. It’s my belief that all people should embrace who they are and accept their natural self. I strive to be honest with my intention behind the camera and guide you when needed to get the best images.
Do we have the rights to our images? Can we make prints?
You will receive a full set of printable jpegs. HSP will retain the copyright to every image. Your contract licenses you to print the high resolution files for personal use. “License” is different from “Copyright”. The license give you the right to make reproductions for personal use. However, because HSP retains the copyright you cannot sell or transfer the images to a third party. When you receive the link to your private online gallery you will also be able to order prints directly and so will your guests.
Where did you, Angela Strassheim, study photography?
My father was a hobby photographer and shot super 8 films. I began photographing in middle school and started winning awards in high school. I studied at the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, pursued a career in Forensic Photography, then ended up at Yale for my Master’s in Photography. Yes, I’m full of stories, all you have to do is ask! I was a second shooter and lighting technician for weddings during my early college years. I have been photographing weddings with my own crew for the past 5 years. If you’d like to learn more about my art photography here is the link: www.angelastrassheim.com
How do we book you?
We require a signed agreement and a non-refundable retainer of 50% in order to reserve your wedding date. We book on a first come first serve basis. If it is a destination wedding or elopement we also hold two days on either end of your wedding day. Prime dates and seasons (May through July, September through November) can book two years in advance, so don’t wait if you know your date!
What should we do after we book with you?
You should relax and enjoy your engagement! In the months before your wedding we will spend more time getting to know you as a couple and your specific desires, create a timeline and go over all the important vendor details to ensure you feel confident about us documenting your biggest day. We will show up early and be fully present, have fun with you and document all of the significant moments along with the spontaneous treasures that make your event full of personality.
